Stop the Climate Crisis: End War

Forum includes updates on
Iran, Venezuela, Yemen and other US “hotspots”

WHEN: Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 7:00 P.M.
WHERE: Augustana Lutheran Church, 2710 NE 14th (corner NE 15th Ave. & Knott St.) enter through breezeway)

PANELISTS: Local Code Pink staff person Cody Urban will link the issues of climate change and war, update the community on U.S. belligerence in Iran and Venezuela, focus on the U.S. role in the war on Yemen, touch on U.S. presence in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria, and more. Sahar Yarjani Muranovic, Executive Director of Oregon NOW, will address U.S. policy in Iran. Dan Shea, President of Veterans for Peace Chapter 72, will talk about Venezuela, having visited that country in March 2019. The event includes updates on Iran, Venezuela, Yemen and other U.S. “hotspots”).

It is expected the City Council will be considering a resolution opposing U.S. intervention in Iran on Wednesday, November 13 at 3:30 P.M.

The forum is cosponsored by Veterans For Peace Chapter 72, Portland Central America Solidarity Committee, Jewish Voice for Peace-Portland and KBOO Community Radio. It is endorsed by the Pacific Green Party.
